Bring Home a Puki

My very good friend Esther sent me this picture. I am not sure where she got it. But if you took that picture, please get in touch with me.

[UPDATED] They may have received some complaints. They changed some of the stuff to Pukii now. Check this out from the website.

That comes from the Metro in Taipei. I thought that was pretty funny myself too

    2. Miku John

Oh so you have seen it! I thought it was in Shanghai. Then I guess Puki is probably from Malay?

    3. Xiamen Ah Long

      Hello Ah John:

I was laughing like siao-lang at work just now. Well, that does not justify that Pxxx is a Malay word. Remember, if it’s a Chinese word, it would be a Hokkien (refer to China). In Shanghai Bank, I dun think they care about a Hokkien word. It may still be a Hokkien word which I am not too sure, but I rather believe it’s a Malay word.

PS: Shanghai Bank does not need to be in Shanglai leh. We also have HSBC in Penang wat. Furthermore, it’s in Traditional Chinese, so either Taiwan or Hong Kong or Malaysia. I guess they dun dare having it in Malaysia. Sure become a talk of town…… In Penang ! Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha.

    4. Xiamen Ah Long

But come to think about it…… Hokkien is widely used in Taiwan, the possibility of it being a Malay word is even higher now. I am still laughing, see they have so many types of Puki there.

    5. Miku John

Yes. I laughed so much too!

    6. Ang Ku Kueh

    10. Penangknia

The puki campaign is in Taiwan. I think this proves definitively that puki is of Malay, not Hokkien origin. The mascot of the puki campaign is a pid. I guess we will never see it in Penang afterall.
