Recently, I have received a phone call, no, many phone calls from a certain someone (Ban Chang Kuih) at a time that I can't pick up and he never left me a message. That gave me an idea to do a show about how and why Malaysians are not used to leaving voice messages on the phone or set up their own voice message mailbox, or even checking their own voice messages. The most popular ghost story series is back with another new episode. One of the many stories include ghosts in a bus. You have to listen to everything. It's both scary and funny! And you only get this in Penang Hokkien.

As many Chinese Penangites are observing the Hungry Ghost Festival, we on Penang Hokkien are joining in and share our experience and stories from the younger generations. I have learned quite a few things from my guests. If you are a chicken, don't worry, it's not very scary at all.

I managed to call up many of Penang Hokkien Podcast listeners who now living abroad. They are either from Penang, lived in Penang, or share our Northen Malaysian Hokkien that I call Penang Hokkien. I am sure many of them share the same nostalgic experience when they find other people to chat with in Penang Hokkien. That's the whole reason why I started this show.

We have two new guests this week to talk about Cheng Beng. I'm sure many of you have already been to the cemetery or will be going this week. Since I grew up a Christian, I didn't really know many of the rituals and customs when it comes to Cheng Beng.
