Some people pantang that, 3 month before & after wedding or give birth cannot attend others wedding, funeral, give angpao for new born baby & etc.

Also got this pantang, boyfriend/girlfriend cannot give shoe as present to each other. They pantang they will break off. So good tips to those who would like to break with your bf/gf without any fight. hahahahahahahaha

Wow, did you realize the first two to comment were both “Shua”. Shua Huan and Shua Hua. Well, anyway, thanks for sharing your pantang.

Found ur podcast recently. Very interesting cos I get to hear penang hokkien in original form. Too good to miss, so i started on episode 1 and gradually advance to eposide 11 already, but jump in between eposides. the past topics brought back fond memories of what we went through school days and life as a kid.
I love to particpate in your talk-show one day provided the topics suit me, if not i tongue-tied, don’t know what to talk. one particular topic i learn you want to do in future is “khan-bong”, that i can provide details cos i have “hands-on” experience not too long ago. or we can talk about penang’s famous and delicious food. well…. just inform me if i can “guest-star”.

Thank you so much for letting us know that you’re listening. Thanks also to your encouraging words. Welcome to Penang Hokkien. And if you haven’t done so already, go and join the forum too. Thats where I will post when I am open for a recording, and anyone with Skype and a functioning mic and headphones would be able to join. Sometimes I also call out to phones.
Thanks again, and I’m glad you found Penang Hokkien!

phai say la… gua computer knowledge chin oo han. u mention go to forum, do i need to register myself in? cos i go in there, khua lai khua khee khua bo lo. also the post there, some are very long, so how do i knw if there are new post.
all other requirement u mentioned, gua toh oo.
let me mention this again, i don’t mean to apple-polish, but i like penang hokkien as it is spoken compared with ‘down-south’ hokkien or the bukit mertajam hokkien (more tiochew slang) or the ‘lau hokkien’. my response to this hokkiens are usually a lot of “ha”, “kong ko chi tau”, lu kong ha mi”.
