    Heow Hong, kam siah very much for your reply =) It’s great and pretty shock to hear you mentioned me in the show.. I am really excited about that! :p

    Yup, I am from Langkawi. I grew up there and moved to Penang when I was 10. My ah kong & ah mah are still living there. So I will go back there occasionally too. Knew that u are going to Langkawi, but I am not in Malaysia now.. I am now studying in Australia.. so really i – cy (gonna die) liao~ struggling with my exams now.. Y_Y

    Anyway, hope u enjoy your trip there. If u want, u can go to the pasar malam on Saturday.. I am sure that you can still grab many Malay kuih and food there.. I miss the chicken panggang with kuah~~ and also the lampa ulang.. haha..

    John, I like your idea about the gathering in 2007.. it sounds cool!! I guess u will be the 1st podcaster to hire a stage at Gurney and have fun there.. haha.. Me and my friends are looking forward to that.. we are all your great great fans~~ =)

    i want you opinion about Hospital in Penang , where is the good hospital because many medan people go to Penang for medicine .
    and please promotion your penang place for tourist example : khun hut , hua na kak ,etc.
    i like lu lang e hokkien and lu lang e history, food .

    Hi, all,

    I was just listening to this IPod for the first time, and am very impressed with the effort that has been put in to promote the use of Penang Hokkien – a true identity of this beautiful state. I myself am not a native Penangite, but lived there for 6 years, and picked up the dialect within a very short time.

    One suggestion I would like to make for upcoming IPod audio uploads would be to encourage an increased use of “pure” Hokkien words wherever possible (instead of code-switching to English – especially when the words exist in Hokkien). This would certainly help in maintaining the integrity of this wonderful dialect.

    By the way, for those of you who are interested in the Hokkien dialect, do check out https://www.chineselanguage.org/forums, under the Hokkien forum. (The site is actually English-based.) I have put in a few entries there for Penang Hokkien.

    Yap: I will take up your suggestion, we will talk about that in our future shows. Thank you for listening.

    Mark: Thanks for listening and for commenting. We will try our best with our Hokkien. My main goal is for our daily conversational Hokkien to be recorded and documented. Not neccessarily the pro in the Hokkien dialect. It is very uniquely Penang Hokkien when we mix in English, Malay, Mandarin, other dialects and so forth. But thanks for your suggestion. We will take up on it and do our best.

    Hi…… I missed out so many episodes for the past few weeks. Today listen to it in the bus, in the restaurant, on the street…… Again people stare at me when I suddenly giggle alone…… Xiamen is getting colder and colder now……

    To answer KE – we do have Tek Ah Kee in Xiamen. It’s a Hokkien food, very common here. And, Foo Chok is the Cantonese way of calling it, in Mandarin we call it Fu Zhu – no matter soft or hard…… It’s a common dish here. And also, it’s Tek Ah Kee – not Tek Ga Kee…… ^__^

    BTW – Are you guys sure Loh Bak is a Nyonya food ? How come we have it here in Xiamen ? It’s called Wu Xiang – which is Five Fragrances, that’s the Ngo Hiang (the powder we use to make it). They call it Ngo Hiang here, but strange thing is I cannot get any Ngo Hiang Hoon here to make my Chicken Rice…… Have to import from Penang……
