I know this isn’t the most pleasant topic, but layoffs are unfortunately happening all over the world these days. Even if it’s not from retrenchment, we may also lose our jobs out of other circumstances. What would you do if that happened to you? Especially if you have a family to support.
I’m excited to be planning a special celebration together with you for our podcast’s 20th anniversary weekend in Penang! I’ll have more details to share next month, so stay tuned. In the meantime, don’t forget to sign up for the PGHK Newsletter to get all the latest updates.
Because May 8th is my dad’s birthday, I wanted to share something special with you all. My dad, Ong-te Pa-pa, meant the world to me and many others. Losing him in November was incredibly painful and sad. But I don’t want to keep his memory to myself. I want to share him with you because I know many of you also know him through our show. He’s always been my biggest supporter, encouraging me to pursue my dreams. And I’m so grateful for his own creativity that instilled in me the belief that I can do whatever I want in life. I truly owe it all to him. Love you, Papa.
We had a lovely chat with our beloved guest Tsheng-tsi. She shared her childhood, growing up, and how she’s found such fulfillment in her career. You’ll get to know her better and discover her amazing achievements!
Thanks, Eng Kok Tiong, for your technical assistance.
Guess what? Many of our guests came back with some spooky tales! There was a swimming ghost, a python ghost, a ghost fruit vendor, and even a ghost that got mad at the homeowners for wanting to move away. Talk about a haunted house!
We had a great time sharing stories about our hair! We talked about all the crazy hairstyles we’ve had, how we like to style it, and the different ways we’ve cut it.
Since we were chatting about dogs last month, it’s only right to switch gears and talk about cats. We shared all about our feline friends, including their personalities, photos, and funny stories. Oh, and guess what? Chai even came to visit me at the studio a few times!
I really appreciate how Hiau Lok was so open about how his childhood and his complex relationships with his parents still impact him in his adult life. He also shared what food from Penang that he truly missed the most.
