I have invited a bunch of PGHK listeners who are either currently living, or used to live, or simply having good memories of our beloved Tanjong Bungah. Share your own Tanjong Bungah stories with us in the comment area.
I too have woderful memories of Tanjung Bungah..remembering each morning ,practising “Tai chi” with my mum and others in front of Southern Bank, and also enjoying the indian mee, when he comes in the late afternoon..
Best of all ,is the pasar malam on every tuesday..that is the day,my mum don’t cook…we will all go to the pasar malam in jalan concord area..
Morning call is I dont need any alarm clock, coz every morning,my neighbours will converse with their loud voice in hainanese wth each other in front of their houses…that will sure wake me up..hahahaaa

Wonderful time indeed. Still remember the good old times….swimming, fishing, and “siput-ing”. Though, I have to say that the beaches are not as clean anymore and are facing issues with sand erosion; realized that the last few trips that I was back there. I am heading back to Penang for a few weeks in about 1month time…The last 2 times I went back, I got to learn to enjoy “Malay-Ju Cha” food there in Tanjong Bungah, sort of like and Malay-Thai flavor dishes…yummy…
One thing that is still there is the little burger truck where the uncle sell the Malaysian style hamburger….quite yummy. The burger truck still goes there between the food court by the main street and the gas station not too far from the German restaurant. By the way, the food court used to served up some really yummy fish n’ chips. The food court (right below Pearl Hill), across the Copthorne hotel.
For me the morning call was those birds in the neighbourhood….they were the alarm clocks for me when I was there. I think they are called something like “???leng “or Magpie or Robin of some sort. Good old times indeed and hopefully the development in Tanjong Bungah is not going to be too fast that the old charms of that place remain intact.

No. It’s not Fatty Loh. Fatty Loh is in Fetties Park. This one is in Tanjong Bungah.
