Actually there is another kinf of ice pop…is a long plastic bag, slim one, then tie at one end or make a nob. Then start filling what ever flavour drinks, seal the other end with a nob and place it in the freezer. My ah ma used to do that for me…you can fill with ‘sem bue chui’ with ‘sem bue’ in…sedap!!!

Jimmy. Thanks for listening. I had so much fun doing this show that I went over my typical 30 minute mark. I hope it’s all worth it.

hey hey this is ah tan from ‘ay-ya-lan’. 🙂 hehe. thanks for the shout-out on the last show. i’m a true-blue penangite, althought slightly ‘ah-mo-sai’, and i have to say, i’m sure my hokkien has improved since i started listening in. i listen to quite a few podcasts, and i have to say i look forward to penanghokkien the most! thanks for making a homesick student’s life away from home just a bit easier. here’s wishing u all the best and many more episodes to come!

  11. ah tan

hiya this is ah tan from ‘ay-ya-lan’ 🙂 hehe. thanks for the shoutout in the last episode. i’m a penangite through and through, although slightly ah-mo-sai (i come from the school very close to yours, john, penang *toot* school, haha! 😀 i have to say, my hokkien has definitely improved since i started listening in. besides that, the show ensures that i don’t forget some very important hokkien phrases! 😀 my favourite shows are when u reminisce about stuff that we grew up with, eg. childhood publications, the mini-market etc. i can’t help smiling and nodding along when u guys discuss stuff that’s so close to all our hearts! i listen to quite a few podcasts, but i have to say penanghokkien is by far my favourite! so here’s a thank you for making a homesick penangite’s life that bit easier. more power to ya 🙂

Wow! It’s been ages since I saw those snacks! I used to beg my mum to buy me those candies when I was small. Now I can still get those bubblegum (in the small boxes) in Lincoln, Nebraska….unbelievable! Look forward to hear more!
