First time i talked so much in the show and my sound seems excited as well. 🙂 hmmmm……. we really talked a lot on tiong chiu, if john didn’t stop, i think we can talk more.

regarding the leng kok (one kind of food, black in colour, horn shape), john did ask but we seem not talk about that more.

anyway, hope u guys enjoy the show! 🙂

Da ge Dong Chiu Joik ho.

Ah John – you see you cannot get rid of your TC background! You said jiat de – eat tea. This is so Teochew. I am so happy. Your TC fan. You see Hokkian people say lim de. However, I am TC, so like you, I say jiat de. he he

There is nothing wrong with your mother saying Dong Chiu. She just has a different accent. Do not be rude. he he

Ah-John, as you do not like sweet moon cakes, you should ask Xiamen Ah Long to send you the Xiamen moon cakes made with meat and duck egg yolks! Famous in China! 😉 People come all the way from the North of China just to buy these moon cakes. Even Da Chen talks about it in his book!

Ah Tan, what are the Chinese characters for sor chew? Will I know chew ?. I am in ??. I am learning to read and write Chinese at the moment. he he!

I love pandan and lotus seed moon cakes. In London we have a shop, owned by Malaysians, who make moon cakes which are not sweet. I do not like sweet moon cakes.

Has anybody tasted the meat moon cakes. I understand that you can have this in DongGok.

Well, I wish everybody Dong-Chiu-Joit Kuai-Lag. It is still Friday in London.

      Jai

    14. Ang Ku Kueh

      Hi everybody [Dong-Chiu-Jiet-Kuai-Log]

Last night, can saw big moon here in S’pore but not very clear,
becoz the smoke haze very heavy, very jiak lat… tak boleh nafas ar…

    15. giam chai at teung

The moon was round and bright in London. The clouds and rain left us alone to bai ghuet nio and eat ghuet bai. Very nice indeed! Fancy calling the moon – a fairy moon! Did you know that ghuet bai was not the original name for moon cakes? One of the Emperors did not like the original name and one of his concubines decided to call it ghuet bia! So it is ghuet bia. Does anybody know its original name? What are the Chinese characters? Giam the very very sia!

    16. Miku John

Happy Tiong Chiu! The moon last night in Kansas City was big, round, and clear. Sorry about some in Singapore and KL, not sure about Penang, the haze might be in the way. But hope all of you had a great Tiong Chiu. I certainly did!

    17. giam chai at teung

      Miku John

Did your mother make ghuet bia for you? [Yue bing] 😉
