    2. mua zi

My favourite food during “kau ong ia” is vegetarian ” kaim hu”- salted fish.
Actually the vegetarian “kiam hu” is made of “tau puih” with ‘”tau joo”.
When it is fried until very very very deep!
Walau ! Cheh cheh and kiam pang kiam pang!

    3. Ang Ku Kueh

WHY CANT EAT GARLIC & ONION…

in some buddist’s books…said that…Garlic Plant & Onion Plant is the Children of

the Devil, so better dont eat it nor destroyed it.

and for my oppinion, coz if u eat Onion or Garlic, you will get “pang pui” very easily,

so just imagine a hall of monk chanting…suddently a monk “pang pui”…

how can they continue chanting? so that why they are not allowed to eat.

    7. YY

I just remember the story i read before.
There was a Chinese princess Long long time ago in China.
That time the princess dun like a monk and she purposely cook meat for the monk.
The monk get angry and push all the food away and fell on the ground.
Then those meat became garlic, onions and spring onions..
Since from that time those things are forbidden to be eaten….
      That’s what i read la….

    8. Ang Ku Kueh

As I get frm the Buddhist resources :

      ?????????????????????????????
      ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

sorry Its mandarin again, which is means, There was five thing can’t added into vegetarian food: [Small Onion], [Onion] ,[Garlic],[ku Chai],[green onion leaf].

Its will cause u to more & more horny…. Unbalance of Hormone… bad tampered etc…

    9. YY

Who know’s the story why some vegetarian practisioner can eat egg but some don’t??

    10. YY

      Anyway how about egg??

    13. giam cai ak teung

Angkukueh gave the following information and I have written it in MinNan Hua and English to help those who cannot read Chinese or familiar with PTH.

      ?????????????????????????????

? = cang1 which are spring onions or scallions in the Americas
?? = dua7cang1 which are onions of the large kind
      ?? = jui3cai4 in PTH = However, MinNan hua ?? is dua7seung3 or leeks
?? = xiao3suan4 in PTH; in MinNan hua is?? = seung(2)tao5 or garlic
?? = xing1qu1 in PTH or?? = Yang2cong1 in PTH; in MinNan hua is ??ang(7)cang1 or shallots

    14. giam cai ak teung

Did you know that we have our own MinNin Hua character for ziah ?? Ziah(4)Z1??[??]. I also do not think that we say ziah with with a consonant sound at the end, either a t or a k sound. Hence, I have used a h as suggested by the PinYin for MinNan hua.

    15. Shua Hu

do you notice that all the five things that cannot eat got something in common?
????????????????????????????all is “???. I remember I saw somewhere that all the food (beside those meat lah) that with these word is not allow to eat.
      The reasons……..

      Hi all,
according what i know, the Five things you cannot added to the vegetarian food because:
      1) some of the reasons being mentioned
      2) If you look at the “ying” and “yang”, five of them belongs to “ying”, and five of them can hurt our five internal organs (i can’t recall now, will check that one out and post it again).
      3) for those who do not consume egg, because chick hatches from the egg. So, egg can consider as a living life.

    21. doltishfish
