A bunch of Chung Tut High School old and current students gathered together and talked about their school, their teacher’s nicknames, and more. If you’re one of the teachers, I’d love to hear from you.

I received the sad news that Hainam Kei Pui passed away.

She had been a great friend of Penang Hokkien Podcast and was a great friend of many other PGHK listeners. She will be missed dearly. Condolences, thoughts and prayers are sent to her family from our bunch here at PGHK.
It is hard to deny the fact that we all sort of became a family through my little project of Penang Hokkien Podcast. Because of that, we laugh together and cry together.
Her laughter, wit and jokes will stay with us forever.
Here are some of her show on PGHK:
PGHK #94 Chao Ua 2 (臭话2)
PGHK #95 Pen Pal
Penang #100 Sneh Jit (生日)
PGHK #101 Bus Skolah
PGHK #111 Guek Pnia (月饼)
PGHK #113 Lau Ua (留话)
PGHK #140 Penang Hambingirl
This week our guests and I shared our experience on how we were cheated. Sometimes little things like an expensive bowl of noodles. Or sometimes paying thousands of ringgit of money and never get the products.
Join us in our recording this weekend.
Date: June 6, 2009
Time: Starting 10PM (Malaysian time)
Topics:
Ghost stories are back. Some people can see ghosts, some people can hear ghosts. One of our guests can hear their voices. And more.
To celebrate Goh Guek Cheik or Bak Chang Day, I pulled up a couple of older episodes from the last few years so that you can enjoy them. Save your day for June 6. 10PM. There’ll be a recording then. I’ll post more details soon.
PGHK #97 Sio Bak Chang (烧肉粽)

We discussed how we missed Penang. Our guests shared how they missed Penang now and when they were not in Penang. I’m sure many of you would be able to relate. Share your experience in the comments area.
Not everyone will feel comfortable coming out in Malaysia (well, even in the USA), but those of us who can, should. Visibility is very important to break the uneducated fear of being gay. If you can put a face to a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered person, you are less likely to discriminate. I need, and we need our straight allies to make this happen.
And I personally thank ALL my Penang Hokkien listeners who look beyond my being gay and just know me as your Miku John. Thank you!
Brought to you by the Committee for the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia, and Gays.com
Are you one of those who were scared of the dentist? Or are you like me who are not afraid of the dentist. Listen to our guests sharing their experience. Share yours in our comment area.
Since yesterday was Mother’s Day, we thought that it would be nice to talk about our mothers. There are funny stories and there are also sweet stories. I wish all the PGHK listeners who are also mothers or serve as nurturing maternal roles a Happy Mother’s Day. Share your mom’s stories with us in the comments area.
ATTENTION:
I think there are many of you who still do not know that I have another podcast that is in English and entirely focused on more serious subjects… well, not always. I’m silly there too. But I cover a lot more personal topics over there. Please check that out and subscribe on iTunes.
