Fast food is very popular in America. Is it as popular in Malaysia? What was the first fast food restaurant in Penang? What other fast food chains are local? What new fast food do we have today in Penang? Find out all about it, and more on this episode. Laughing and eating are the two favorite things for PGHK listeners, you’ll get both.
John, remember to drop me an email a few days before your recording of Tanjung Bunga.
Pizza Hut first opened at Komtar, my grandmother took me there. I have ordered 1 large Pan Pizza. She ate 1 piece and I finished the rest. I was so full and I can feel the cheese taste in my throat until I reached home. So JELAK!
i always like food episod. it tells me where got nice food in Penang that i donno.
good job.
encourage do more food recording.
Wow, it’s quite a different experience listening to PGHK after actually going to Penang. I can understand more of the podcast than ever before, and now I know lots of the places too (I even know where the KFC is inside Komtar, not that I wanted to eat anything there though). I prefer the hawker khoai-chhan myself to any of the western stuff. I was cycling uphill and damned hungry when listening to this this morning, so I guess I got my punishment for sticking all the pics of yummy food on my fb page and torturing the expat penangites!
Nando’s is Portugese Cruisine, not Spanish.
Noone mentioned “Chicken Valley”, maybe already closed long time ago, I remember I been to Butterworth for this fast food years ago, roasted chicken restaurant and they let you have plastic disposable gloves instead of fork and knife.
I used to remember there is one KFC near Burma Road opposite to the hotel, but I cannot remember what is the name of the hotel now, also opposite Liberty,
