Ah John, “Nato” reminded me so much of Telur Alien! You forget to mention the stinky fish stomach-魚肚 which marinated with salt & then let it cured in the bottle jug. It smells like a rotten rat & extermely rancid but taste really yummy! My granny used to cook it as sourly gulai soup with pineapple & tasted so so so the very sedap!!!
